People Operations Coordinator
Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing Wilmington-area organization, for a People Operations Coordinator to join their HR team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves keeping people processes running smoothly, from onboarding new hires to maintaining accurate employee records, and who wants a front-row seat to how a modern HR function operates.
Day to day, you will juggle a mix of administrative precision and people-facing warmth, coordinating interviews, processing paperwork, answering employee questions, and supporting benefits and payroll administration. This role suits someone who is highly organized, discreet with sensitive information, and energized by helping colleagues have a great employee experience from their first day forward.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate new hire onboarding including paperwork, orientation scheduling, and system setup
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS
- Support recruiting logistics such as scheduling interviews and posting job openings
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and general HR procedures
- Assist with benefits enrollment and open enrollment administration
- Help process payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and status updates
- Track and maintain compliance documentation and required certifications
- Organize employee engagement activities and internal communications
- Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership review
- Support offboarding processes including exit interviews and final documentation
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Two or more years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or administrative support role
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hybrid team environment
- Knowledge of basic employment law and HR compliance practices a plus
