Leads strategic fundraising initiatives and activities, and develops strategies to build and strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, corporate sponsors, community partners and local organizations

Essential Job Functions
- Collaborates with university leadership and internal university departments to identify and prioritize fundraising initiatives and develop targeted cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Manages a portfolio of major gifts and other prospects, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors to attain fundraising goals
- Cultivates and stewards relationships with community partners, alumni and donors to increase engagement and philanthropic support for the university
- Collaborates with university leadership on the planning and execution of fundraising events, including donor recognition events and community engagement activities
- Develops and implements outreach and communication strategies, in collaboration with university leadership, to promote the university's initiatives and fundraising campaigns and enhance the university’s brand and reputation
- Serves as a liaison between the university and the local community, fostering positive relationships and seeking opportunities for collaboration and partnerships
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of donor and community partner interactions using a donor database system
- Tracks fundraising progress and monitors metrics
- Prepares and monitors departmental budget
- Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Moderate amount of experience working in advancement, fundraising, strategic planning, campaigns, leadership or other related experience
Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
