Title: Staff Software Engineer

Location: 1414 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28203

Duties: Design and develop financial software applications primarily using Java. Evaluate functional requirements for new requests, estimate effort involved, and determine resource allocations that each request would require. Coordinate team of developers working on the designing and coding software applications using Angular JS, Java, Oracle, Postgres and MongoDB. Conduct daily scrums with development team. Conduct code, design, and architecture reviews. Document the design and code as per the PDLC standards. Work in Agile environment, estimating effort and tracking progress towards key deliverables. Handle production support of applications by leading team to solve production incidents and perform root cause analysis, code defect fixes, data analysis, and troubleshooting. Oversee infrastructure resources used by applications and coordinate with other internal teams on security patch updates, software upgrades, and other infrastructure activities. Train and mentor members of the development team on all aspects of the product suite.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related technical field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, Programmer or in a related position performing software design and development. Must have experience with the following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions in Java to support enhancements and bug fixes in existing and new applications; knowledge of Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Multithreading concepts, Microservices, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Kubernetes, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Unix, IBM MQ, Datadog, Splunk, Confluence and Jira; database development using Stored Procedures, SQL or PL/SQL; working with AWS Glue, working with Angular JS or React JS; working with IDE tools and build management tools, including Maven, Jenkins and Source Control (Subversion, Git and GitHub).

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $154,669 to $203,350, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
