What You'll Do (Essential Duties)
- Perform pre-functional inspections, checklists, and startup of commercial HVAC systems.
- Install unit accessories and ensure proper system operation according to manufacturer requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot startup-related issues to ensure seamless system performance.
- Interpret drawings, submittals, and installation/operation manuals for accurate startup execution.
- Document all work with detailed reports for each system and unit.
- Assist installation teams by mounting and connecting field-installed devices as needed.
- Collaborate with commissioning agents and project teams to complete required documentation.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
- Experience: 5+ years in HVAC startup, service, or commissioning roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with DX systems, water-cooled chillers, heat pumps, VAV boxes, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC system construction, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
- Hands-on controls experience (wiring concepts, programming, or software) preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with common installation codes and best practices.
- Technology & Software:
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and digital documentation tools.
- Experience with CX Alloy or similar commissioning software is a plus.
- Licenses & Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (must pass background and drug screening).
- Ability to handle multiple projects and effectively manage time in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. (NC, SC, VA region)
