**Overview**
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the work of all manufacturing operators (weigh/dispense, powder blending, tea blending, agglomeration, layering, and solution prep) while they are assigned to any company directed task. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that work is scheduled and performed in a safety and quality conscious environment, while maintaining productivity standards. This position will monitor staffing requirements and advise Manager of changing needs. The Supervisor will be responsible for meeting or exceeding all scheduled packaging objectives and for complete adherence to company and regulatory procedures and requirements.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Plan, supervise and direct manufacturing personnel to achieve short- and long-term departmental objectives.
- Must have a thorough understanding of powder and /or tea blending processes, including weigh/dispense, powder blending, agglomeration, layering and solution preparation.
- Problem solves and troubleshoots production issues and recommends solutions.
- Implement changes to improve production yields and efficiencies.
- Ensure staff is properly trained and competent in all technical aspects of their positions
- Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Establish staffing guidelines and distribute workload so as to deliver maximum results.
- Maintain two-way dialog with direct reports on work and results.
- Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives assuring that these are clearly understood by the shift.
- Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) documents.
- Work with Maintenance, Quality Control and other departments as needed in order to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and cGMP Standards.
- Administer company policies regarding attendance, conduct, performance, quality, safety and teamwork.
- Interact daily with Quality and Planning to assure production schedules are met or exceeded.
- Work closely with Process Engineering to improve line efficiencies and speed up processing time.
- Responsible for personnel development. Instruct, train, motivate and assist employees so that company and departmental objectives are achieved.
- Accountable for department results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise up to 150 Manufacturing operators
**Qualifications**
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written English.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Experience:
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
- 2 years of work experience in an FDA/GMP regulated production operation
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year technical degree from accredited institution or equivalent experience
