We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to build and scale security automation, orchestration, and developer-facing security tooling across the organization. This role focuses on integrating security into engineering workflows, enabling developers to operate securely without sacrificing velocity.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with security expertise, and brings experience building production-grade systems, integrations, and event-driven pipelines that improve security outcomes at scale.
Requirements:What You’ll Do
- Design and build security automation and orchestration solutions that integrate with development, infrastructure, and operations platforms
- Develop production-grade security tooling, including internal applications, APIs, and integration layers
- Engineer integrations between security tools and platforms such as:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Source control systems
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) workflows
- Ticketing and collaboration platforms
- Build developer security enablement capabilities, including:
- CI/CD security gates
- Pre-commit checks
- IDE-integrated security feedback
- Self-service security portals
- Create event-driven security pipelines that process telemetry and automate:
- Security finding triage
- Orchestration workflows
- Remediation actions
- Implement policy-as-code frameworks for:
- Cloud configuration security
- Network segmentation controls
- Identity and access governance
- Partner with platform engineering, infrastructure, and application development teams to embed security into core workflows and architecture decisions
- Contribute to AI-assisted workflows that enhance security review, triage, and decision-making at scale
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, documentation, and hands-on collaboration
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or related fields
- Strong experience building production systems and developer tooling
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java)
- Experience integrating with:
- CI/CD systems
- Source control platforms (e.g., Git-based systems)
- Cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Security automation and orchestration
- API design and system integration
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Solid understanding of application and cloud security principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building event-driven architectures (e.g., queues, streams, serverless pipelines)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and developer enablement strategies
- Experience implementing policy-as-code frameworks (e.g., OPA, Sentinel)
- Exposure to security telemetry pipelines, SIEM/SOAR, or detection engineering
- Knowledge of identity systems and access control models
- Interest or experience in AI/ML-assisted security workflows
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams

Additional Information
- Role can be based in Charlotte, NC or Novi, MI
- Remote candidates within the U.S. will be considered with periodic travel required
- Travel may be required for team collaboration and company events
