At Boxcar, our product is a good time. For us, that means cold drinks, exciting games, great pizza, and even better people.

Boxcar has four locations across North Carolina. We’re not a chain. We value personality. What ties each spot together is a team that cares deeply about making each guest’s night a great one and looking out for one another.

Our vibe is eclectic, sometimes eccentric, but always welcoming. Our customers are a mix of pinball regulars, after-work crews, party-goers, competitive skee-ballers, and folks who just want a smooth drink in a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Our bartenders set the tone. We’re looking for someone who can keep up with a packed bar, make great drinks, and actually enjoy doing it. Experience matters. Personality matters more. If that sounds like you, keep reading!

• Make great drinks, fast. Handle high-volume service accurately across the range of our menu. Don’t cut corners, even when you’re three-deep.
• Host the party. Engage guests, answer questions, and ensure everyone is having a great time. You are the face of Boxcar.
• Know the menu cold. Craft beer, cocktails, shots, non-alcoholic options. Be ready to recommend, not just take orders.
• Bring the fun. We host events and theme nights. We expect you to participate, dress up when the theme calls for it, and add to the ambiance.
• Do the dirty work. Keg changes, line cleaning, fruit prep, restocking, mopping. Everyone contributes to all the little tasks that keep the drinks flowing.
• Keep it tight. Maintain a clean bar, handle cash accurately, and manage inventory/tabs with precision.

• No a**holes. We value kindness, honesty, integrity, and consideration. If you can’t abide by that, Boxcar isn’t the place for you.
• One team, one dream. We don’t do silos or pass the buck. Pitch in and help out, even if it’s not your core responsibility. No job is too small.

What Else We’re Looking For

• Experience. You have several years of experience in high-volume bars or nightclubs.
• Conscientiousness. You take the job seriously, but you don’t take yourself too seriously.
• Genuine hospitability. You like people, and it shows in how you work.
• Availability. You are ready to work weekends, closing shifts, private events, and holidays as the business needs.
• Reliability. Full stop. Show up, on time, every time.
• Physically ready. 8-hour shifts on your feet. Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Certification. Cicerone Certified Beer Server and/or ServSafe Alcohol Certifications are a plus.
