Industrial Painter — Rolling Stock Fabrication

What you’ll take on
- Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles to exacting standards.
- Hand, block, and mechanical sanding of car shells prior to primer/paint.
- Mask and clean surfaces to secure proper adhesion.
- Apply primers and undercoats per specification.
- Conduct general maintenance on paint tools and equipment.
- Pitch in to assist other painters and cross-functional teammates.
Is this you?
- High school diploma or GED—or an equivalent blend of education and hands-on experience with painting or similar materials in manufacturing.
- At least 1 year of painting experience in a factory or comparable environment.
- Comfortable using English to communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services, and internal partners.
- Able to read and write simple instructions, short memos, and technical documentation.
- Solid math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; work with fractions/decimals; compute rate/ratio/percent; read bar graphs.
Physical realities of the job
- Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling.
- Regular climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders.
- Work on elevated platforms and perform overhead tasks.
- Lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Pay and benefits info
Benefit details:
Base rate range in Lexington, NC: $16.00/hr - $19.68/hr. Actual pay may be higher or lower based on budget and your experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
