Mechanical Project Manager

Highland Consulting Group, a direct placement search firm specializing in construction recruitment, is partnering with a growing Mechanical Contractor in the Wilmington, DE area to find an experienced Mechanical Project Manager .

This on-site role offers long-term stability with little to no travel and is requiring candidates with 5+ years of experience managing commercial and industrial mechanical piping, plumbing, and sheet metal projects. This is a mix of design/build and retrofit work with large project experience being a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all project phases to ensure seamless execution from start to finish.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet key milestones.
• Estimate, negotiate, and track change orders effectively.
• Manage project budgets and approve all related expenses.
• Oversee contract administration and subcontractor/equipment buyouts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners and stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed project records and ensure proper closeout documentation.
• Conduct punch-list inspections with superintendents and owner representatives.
• Build and foster strong client relationships to drive repeat business opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager handling projects $5M+.
• Expertise in new build and retrofit projects within commercial and industrial mechanical systems.
• Strong ability to establish timelines, manage budgets, and negotiate change orders.
• Proven multi-tasking and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lead effective, multi-discipline meetings.
• A stable, verifiable record of project management success.
• Strong understanding of project financials and cost control.
• Anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 annually. As required by local law, Highland Consulting Group believes that the attached salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position.
