Telemetry RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
• Unit: Cardiac Medical Telemetry
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 to 26 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1700-$1750
• Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)
• Float Requirement: Yes, within hospital and affiliate hospitals
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State (must be in hand at start)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Proficient in cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone), pre/post cardiac cath and surgery, sheath removal, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and perform remote telemetry monitoring
• Epic charting experience preferred
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travel nurses welcome

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for adults with cardiac diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
• Perform sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop procedures
• Access ports, administer blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
• Float to other hospital units as needed based on skill set and census
• Document and communicate patient care using Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team response during catastrophic events or disasters
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
