Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:45 - 15:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience in diagnostic and interventional catheterization - Proficiency in procedures such as cardiac stent placement and catheterizations Description: This position requires a registered nurse with experience in the cardiac catheterization lab. The nurse will work in both diagnostic and interventional settings. Common procedures include cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and IABP placement/removal. The nurse will also handle percutaneous coronary interventions and pulmonary artery line monitoring. Knowledge of administering and monitoring various medications, including antiarrhythmics and thrombolytics, is essential. IV therapy skills are necessary, specifically in starting IVs and administering blood products. The ideal candidate should demonstrate professional knowledge in EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Infection prevention and isolation precautions must be followed diligently. Operative knowledge of sedation monitoring and sheath removal procedures is required. Preferred skills include advanced procedures like ASD closures and cardiac implant device management. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care. Patient demographics primarily include adults and geriatrics with diverse cardiovascular diagnoses. Candidates must be open to floating to other areas as needed. The nurse will participate in call rotations as scheduled.
