As an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure , you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment .
We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Quality Engineering Internship, beginning in May or June 2026. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Monitoring manufacturing processes and supporting the creation and maintenance of quality data systems.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and assisting with implementation of best practices on the shop floor.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by assisting with activities such as PFMEAs, ITPs, and Control plans to support manufacturing lines.
- Capturing and documenting root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods.
- Supporting containment and corrective actions for quality issues through Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and related quality processes.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
- Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI and quality tools (Fishbone, PDCA, 8D).
- Familiarity with quality data analysis or visualization tools.
- Exposure to quality management systems or standards (e.g., ISO).
- Prior experience supporting quality or manufacturing improvement efforts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to support corrective and preventive actions.
