Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of assigned field projects.
Essential Functions:

- Coordinate & communicate with the Field Operations Manager and Estimator on project status, problems, or deviations from schedule or contract.
- Possess working knowledge of all project plans and specifications.
- Order/requisition materials and supplies.
- Coordinate work activities with other project activities and subcontractors.
- Supervise employees, discipline as necessary, and evaluate performance.
- Generate accurate Daily Worksheets, time cards, and daily inspection logs for equipment.
- Represent JAF at project coordination meetings.
- Coordinate changes to manpower, customer requests, and employee/site issues with the Field Operations Manager/Project Manager.
- Responsible for cleanliness and safety on all job sites.
- Responsible for adhering to all JAF company policies and procedures as well as the customer's.
- Schedule all tool and equipment needs with the Equipment Manager and Toolroom Supervisor.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all work vehicles & equipment in the crew.
- Assist employees engaged in construction activities using tools or equipment.
- Train employees in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.

Work Environment:
This job can require inside or outside work and in various weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold). Work may include heights, hazards of operating equipment, power tools, and the presence of chemicals, dust, and fumes. Noise level can be loud, in excess of 100 decibels. Personal Protection Equipment is required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, earplugs, and gloves.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires mobility to maneuver around the job site, standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching above the head. Mental demands include the mathematical ability to count and inventory, read blueprints, interpret job specifications, plus quality control decisions. It also requires good vision and hearing. May be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Travel: Travel out-of-town and out-of-state is required.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Foreman
- Valid Driver's License
Other Criteria:
Must have a valid driver's license, pass a drug screen, and undergo background checks.
Demonstrate the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
Consistently demonstrate the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
Independently perform duties with minimal direction and supervision.
Recognize and perform duties that need to be performed, although not directly assigned, assisting others as needed.
Consistent communication with the Superintendent/Project Manager/Operations Manager.
Seek guidance and direction, as necessary, for the performance of duties.
Demonstrate good judgment in investigations and problem-solving.
Respect the confidentiality of JAF, customers, and personnel.
Demonstrate effective and professional leadership at all times.

Authority:
Schedule manpower.
Make quality control decisions.
Discipline/Terminate employees (involve HR).
Remove employee from job site if suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs (MUST notify HR immediately).
Stop work if found to be unsafe or not in compliance.
May NOT charge personal items to the company.
Performance:
The Foreman's performance will be based on the following:
- Ability to reduce downtime, accidents/injuries, rework/warranty work
- Ability to meet production & profit goals and standards
- An accurate explanation of variances from the estimate, and the percentage of overall project work completed.
- Motivation of employees and client satisfaction
- Willingness to provide support to all peers.
- Compliance with JAF policies, procedures, and safety manual.
