- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Locum Tenens
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract Nursing Job
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (2:45 PM – 3:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,640–$1,680 per week
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 typical, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; schedule flexibility needed
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year as an ER nurse
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start)
- ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork, communication, and real-time feedback skills
- Ability to float and work in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Commitment to respectful behavior and delivering a positive patient experience
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced ER setting
- Perform advanced nursing procedures; utilize Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
- Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain accurate patient boards and communicate effectively with patients and families
- Adhere to hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance standards
