Position Summary
As a Supply Chain Planner at GKN Automotive, you will play a critical role in coordinating and executing production scheduling and supply planning activities. This position requires direct, hands-on experience in managing production schedules within a manufacturing environment . You will be responsible for aligning material availability with production capacity , ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role involves close collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to support operational efficiency and responsiveness.
We are specifically seeking candidates who have worked directly in production scheduling—not in support or intermediary roles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating, managing, and adjusting production schedules in response to changing demand and operational constraints.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in** production scheduling within a manufacturing environment**
Demonstrated ability to manage planning parameters and production timelines using ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools
Intermediate to advanced English proficiency for cross-functional and global coordination
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for planning and inventory control
Strong analytical skills and ability to use data for decision-making
Experience with lean manufacturing and logistics principles
Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments
Familiarity with supply chain operations in the automotive industry
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing both tactical and strategic planning cycles to ensure production continuity and inventory reliability. Key responsibilities include:
Creating and maintaining detailed production schedules in ERP systems
Monitoring and adjusting planning parameters to reflect operational needs
Tracking supply chain KPIs such as delivery performance and inventory turnover
Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material or capacity issues
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimize planning and logistics workflows
