Job Title: Plant Sciences - Research scientist 1

Location: Research Triangle Park NC 27709

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:

Duties:

• Perform plant and seed production based activities with commercial crops such as soybean and maize in greenhouses and growth chambers in the well-controlled growth environment.
• Common tasks performed
• Plant care including hand watering fertilizing and plant maintenance
• Planting sampling transplanting pollinating and discarding plants
• Plant growth performance observations and data collections
• Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements

Skills:

• Ability to perform all physical duties required in greenhouse operations under well controlled environment conditions.
• Ability to work weekends and occasionally holidays.
• Greenhouse experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations
• Pay attention to plant care and experimental details
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Commitment and adherence to excellent stewardship practices
• Perform all tasks in compliance with HSE safety guidelines related to company policies and practices
• Ability to use MS office software (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint) and other databases efficiently

Education:

• BS degree or equivalent in agronomy horticulture or plant science related field or an associate degree with 2 years of experience in plant biology
