Job Summary
We are seeking a high-energy Inside Sales - B2B Representative for a direct hire opportunity in Charlotte, NC with a rapidly growing, founder-led wellness company in the consumer packaged goods space. This role is focused on expanding wholesale partnerships for premium plant-based botanical products, including kratom and kava, through outbound phone sales, digital outreach, consultative selling, and relationship development. Key Responsibilities - Conduct high-volume outbound calls to retailers, including smoke shops, vape stores, wellness retailers, convenience retailers, and other target accounts in the kratom and kava category.- Introduce a premium product line to new prospects, educate store owners on best sellers, and clearly communicate the value proposition.
- Manage the full B2B sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, pitching, objection handling, closing, invoicing follow-up, and repeat business development.
- Build and maintain long-term wholesale customer relationships by acting as a trusted advisor and helping accounts select the right product mix.
- Track customer interactions, pipeline activity, invoices, conversions, and follow-up tasks accurately in the CRM.
- Consistently work toward daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets while staying informed on product knowledge, market trends, and competitor offerings. Compensation and Benefits - Direct hire opportunity.
- Base salary of $50,000 per year.
- Salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 per year.
- Uncapped commission starts immediately.
- New customer sales commission is 15% of total sale value.
- Existing customer sales commission is 10% after the first order.
- Performance incentives tied to revenue and growth.
- Month 1 to 3 target commission expectation is approximately $500 to $1,000 based on roughly $10,000 in revenue.
- By 90 days, target commission expectation is approximately $2,000 per month based on roughly $20,000 to $30,000 in monthly revenue.
- Schedule is on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional remote day may be available, but the role is primarily in office 5 days per week.
- Training plan includes product knowledge, systems and invoicing training, catalog and pricing review, mock sales trial, shadowing, and live selling. Required Qualifications and Skills
- Drive outbound B2B sales activity to generate new wholesale customers and revenue.- Manage prospecting, pitching, objection handling, closing, and follow-up through the full sales cycle.
- Build strong retailer relationships and guide customers toward best-selling, high-margin product selections.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline updates, customer notes, and sales activity tracking. - 1 to 2 years of sales experience preferred, ideally in inside sales, B2B sales, account executive work, or high-volume cold calling.
- Comfortable making 80 to 100 dials per day with a goal of approximately 2 hours of talk time and 5 to 10 meaningful conversations daily.
- Ability to clearly explain outbound calling metrics, daily activity expectations, past sales performance, and commission plan experience.
- Strong phone presence, email communication skills, and ability to build rapport quickly with business owners and retail buyers.
- Sales-driven, competitive, self-motivated, and comfortable working toward measurable revenue and activity goals.
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, high-volume, startup-style environment.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, active listening, customer discovery, and relationship-building skills.
- Resilient and adaptable with the ability to handle objections and stay focused on results.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn product details, and ability to follow a structured sales process.
- CRM experience such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or a similar platform is helpful. Preferred Qualifications - Experience selling to smoke shops, vape stores, wellness stores, convenience retailers, distributors, or similar retail channels.
- Familiarity with consumer packaged goods, direct store delivery, wholesale sales, kratom, kava, botanical products, or wellness products.
- Prior success in a commission-based sales environment with measurable new customer acquisition goals.
- Experience developing cold leads, managing provided leads, and building a repeatable book of business.
