Senior Databricks Engineer
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a 12 month contract, open to Contract to Hire role. The schedule is 2 days onsite for Contract to Hire with Wednesday mandatory. If straight contract, then must be onsite 5 days a week. The hours: 8am - 4pm with some flexibility on start and end time. Overview: The client is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to support high-priority enterprise data and analytics initiatives. This role is approximately 90% engineering and 10% business interaction and requires someone who can work independently, ask the right questions, and recommend effective technical solutions. Responsibilities:
- Develop and support new and existing data applications and integrations
- Build, enhance and optimize data solutions using Azure Databricks
- Work with architects, analysts and data scientists on data products and analytics
- Design and review technical/data-flow solutions
- Perform code reviews, testing, deployment and production support
- Troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance on complex data solutions
- Maintain technical documentation for downstream integrations
- Identify technology trends and opportunities for improvement
- Participate in Scrum/Sprint activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration or Data Warehousing
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
- Strong understanding of the Azure ecosystem
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Python or Scala
- Practical data modeling experience, including understanding the impact of data models on KPIs
- Experience with on-premises ETL/ERP technologies such as Informatica, IICS, Cognos, Netezza or similar platforms
- Experience with Power BI, Azure ML, Databricks, Synapse or similar analytics platforms
- Visa sponsorship is available for this position
- Azure DevOps and GitHub experience preferred
