Automation & Controls Account Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The ACS Account Manager is focused on new controls contract sales, customer relations, collection resolution, project management, and retrofit/upgrade project sales.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Marketing and sales efforts involve promoting company services and developing new business through strategic outreach and client engagement.
- Customer development and retention focus on building strong relationships, meeting client needs, and encouraging long-term loyalty.
- Estimating and budgeting by preparing accurate cost projections based on labor, materials, and the scope of work.
- Written proposals developed to clearly communicate scope, pricing, and timelines in a professional and persuasive format.
- Planning and scheduling include creating detailed timelines to guide team activities and meet project deadlines.
- Cost control involves monitoring project expenses and implementing adjustments to stay within budget.
- Ensuring quality and performance means upholding standards and verifying that work meets or exceeds expectations.
- Timely invoicing and cash flow management require issuing invoices promptly and following up to ensure on-time payments.
- Warranty administration includes managing post-project issues and ensuring prompt, effective resolution of warranty claims.
- Review and understand contractual scope and project documents (drawings, submittals, equipment operations, and maintenance manuals)
- Ensure quality, performance, and adherence to project requirements, enforcing safety and quality standards
- Promote and uphold McKenney’s safety absolutes, best practices, and company culture
- Participate in project planning and execution to maximize SQPCE performance
- Act as a company ambassador by marketing and promoting consistent and excellent project implementation
- Understand, practice, and promote all company values and operational procedures
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of HVAC or controls services-related sales
- 5 years of building automation and control systems experience or vocational training.
- Must have basic experience in Windows or macOS environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software

- Must have experience in Windows or MacOS environments, including a working knowledge of spreadsheets, e-mail, and Web-enabled applications.
- Calendar Management expertise.
- Advanced competencies in computer networking.
- Sales and CRM training with documentation

- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work independently
- Highly adaptable and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service with a genuine passion for the company and industry
- Excellent time management skills: able to prioritize, balance urgent vs. important tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maximize efficiency

- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and understand various technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, civil, structural)
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with minimal guidance

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
- Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
- The work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and some standing or walking.
- Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
- Minimal physical labor required; role involves oversight and coordination rather than direct handling of materials or equipment
