Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Specialty: Psychiatric Nurse / Behavioral Health RN
• Location: Raleigh, NC 27617 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Behavioral Health Division (77-bed inpatient unit)
• Patient Population: Adult behavioral health
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Float Requirements: May float to up to 4 different behavioral health units
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800–$1840 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (psychiatric or behavioral health nursing preferred)
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adult patients
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and participate in individualized treatment planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and external review organizations
• Float between behavioral health units as needed to ensure optimal patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records (EHR)
