Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Unit: D3-A (PCU/ICU Overflow)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13-week contract
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU
• Scheduling: Every other weekend and holiday support required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,440 - $1,470

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical ICU or PCU nursing experience in a large healthcare facility
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and teamwork skills
• Experience with advanced critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Central line management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Ability to assist with bedside procedures (e.g., chest tube insertion, intubations)
• Bedside shift report and nurse leader rounding required
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to PCU and ICU overflow patients
• Monitor and manage ventilators, IV pumps, and temperature management equipment
• Administer critical care medications and manage complex patient conditions
• Collaborate with healthcare providers during bedside procedures
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
• Float to other nursing units as needed
• Participate in bedside shift reports and nurse leader rounding
• Support a positive patient experience and uphold hospital safety standards
