Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM–2:00 AM

You kick off the evening with a quick huddle, aligning your upholstery team on goals for safety, quality, cost, and output. You assign work across the department, verify PPE is on and equipment checks are complete, and coordinate with neighboring supervisors so the entire operation runs as one. As the shift unfolds, you apply Continuous Improvement tools to remove bottlenecks, resolve material or product issues with the right contacts, and keep the team focused on standards. You coach, mentor, and review performance, and you partner with the Superintendent/Manager to strengthen production control, SOPs, quality control, safety practices, and performance management.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, direct, and assign daily work in a manufacturing upholstery department; coordinate with other supervision for seamless operations.
• Use Continuous Improvement methods to drive better safety, quality, productivity, and cost; engage employees in improvement programs.
• Analyze production information to make timely decisions and solve problems; escalate product or material issues to appropriate contacts.
• Uphold a safe workplace: ensure PPE compliance and safe, properly maintained equipment.
• Collaborate with the functional area Superintendent/Manager to enhance production control systems, SOPs, safety, quality control, and performance management.
• Lead people decisions: hiring recommendations, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments.
• Audit adherence to SOPs and direct the team to achieve department goals.
• Coach and mentor employees; administer performance reviews; plan and implement training and skill development.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and attendance records.
• Communicate priorities and progress through weekly team meetings and regular one-on-ones; promote learning opportunities.
• Optimize use of equipment, facilities, people, methods, and materials.

What You Need

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Associate degree in Supervisory Management or related field, desired
• 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution center environment, required
• Previous supervisory experience, preferred
• Background with manufacturing or warehouse equipment and department processes, desired
