Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens Contract
• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Unit: General Renal – Med/Surg Telemetry (41 beds, telemetry capable)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Duration: 20 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, within hospital and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts with preceptor plus EMR education)
• Scrubs: Navy or White (not provided)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660-$1700

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at time of start)
• BCLS certification (required)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Preferred: ACLS and NIHSS certifications; Epic charting experience
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to renal and limb preservation patients, including those with ESRD, ARF, CHF, diabetes, and vascular procedures
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, dietary, PT/OT, and pharmacy
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and adhere to isolation precautions
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR and follow SBAR communication standards
• Participate in daily team meetings to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units as required and adapt to varying patient ratios (typically 1:5-6)
