• Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self
• Assess readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers
• Identify expected patient outcomes
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs
• Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Synthesize assessment data into meaningful whole prior to communication to others
• Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care

Requirements of the Clinical Nurse - Med Surg

• One (1) year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Proficiency in English: Read, Write, Speak
