Pre-K Lead Teacher

Summary

Master?s Garden Preschool is seeking a Christ-centered, nurturing, and experienced Pre-K Lead Teacher to guide 4- and 5-year-olds in their academic, emotional, and spiritual development. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing children for kindergarten through hands-on, play-based learning rooted in Biblical truth. This is a full-time, year-round position at a licensed Christian preschool in Hillsborough, NC.

Duties

• Create and maintain a loving, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom for Pre-K students.
• Implement curriculum aligned with NC Foundations and Christian values to support kindergarten readiness.
• Lead daily Bible lessons, prayer, and worship activities that reflect the love and character of Jesus.
• Provide intentional instruction in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development.
• Assess and document children's progress across developmental domains.
• Communicate effectively with families through regular updates and conferences.
• Supervise and collaborate with an Assistant Teacher to support classroom success.
• Encourage positive discipline and character-building in a warm and respectful manner.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized classroom in compliance with licensing regulations.
• Participate in preschool-wide initiatives, staff development, and team meetings.

Requirements

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve in Christian ministry.
• Minimum of 2 years experience teaching in a licensed Pre-K or preschool classroom.
• NC Early Childhood Credential (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to meet all state child care background check and health requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Birth?Kindergarten, or a related field.
• Experience with NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
• Familiarity with Christian early childhood curriculum.
• Experience supervising or mentoring teaching assistants.
• Skills in parent engagement and communication.
