IMMEDIATELY HIRING HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS IN MOCKSVILLE, NC PAY $24-28 PER HOUR + OT
This position is for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator based in Mocksville, NC who is willing to travel weekly to job sites across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. You will operate a variety of heavy machinery to support land clearing and site preparation while working closely with a crew. The role involves extended hours, frequent travel in a company vehicle from Monday through Friday, and offers consistent work with overtime potential for those who enjoy being on the road and working outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, tractors, and bush hogs to support land clearing and site preparation.
- Perform site work including land clearing, grading, and material movement in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with daily job site setup and cleanup to ensure a safe, organized, and productive work area.
- Conduct basic equipment inspections and maintenance checks to identify issues and keep machinery in good working condition.
- Follow all company and job site safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
- Travel with the crew in a company vehicle to various job sites across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee from Monday through Friday.
- Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule and to required specifications.
- Adapt to changing site conditions and instructions while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, tractors, and bush hogs.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation for land clearing, grading, and material movement.
- Ability to travel weekly from Monday through Friday and stay overnight as needed.
- Comfortable working 50–60 hours per week, including extended days on job sites.
- Valid driver’s license to support travel in a company vehicle to and from job sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to working effectively in a crew-based environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and adhere to company and job site safety standards.
- Capability to perform basic equipment inspections and maintenance checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting land clearing projects and site preparation work.
- Comfort working in remote or changing job site locations across multiple states.
- Willingness to consistently travel and stay with the crew during the workweek.
- No medical clearances or formal certifications required for this role.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members regarding site conditions and equipment status.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mocksville, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
