Job Description

We are currently seeking skilled Structures Mechanics or Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team. You will be responsible for the assembly, fitting of detail parts and structures, and performing varied drilling and riveting operations on aircraft. Your role will involve safely performing sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts and equipment under general supervision, while ensuring compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft.
• Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
• Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
• Shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information using proper tooling.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions.
• Use the proper hardware for various sheet-metal applications.
• Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, and use personal protective equipment as required.
• Ensure aircraft interior is protected (PTP) and assist in monthly 5S audits.
• Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
• Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of Sheet Metal/Structure Modification Experience
• Experience with aircraft types such as King Airs, Cessna, Jet, CRJ, Falcon, Hawker, Corporate Aircraft, Bombardier, Challenger, Phenom, Citation, King Air
• A&P certification is advantageous

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ years of Sheet Metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Corporate Aircraft Experience is highly desirable

Work Environment

The position is located in a large MRO facility where you will work as part of a large team. Shift options include Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm to 1:30am, or weekend shifts Friday to Sunday from 6am to 6pm. Own tools are required for this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $50.00/hr.
