Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Only accept first-time travelers with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience. Description: As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. You will deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and strong communication skills will be essential. You will lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The unit is fast-paced, with an average patient census of 200-220 per day. Patient types include trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn, among others. Common diagnoses encompass GSWs, stabbings, multi-trauma, MVC, MI, CVA, hypothermia, drownings, falls, conscious sedation, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, sexual assault, and overdoses. Patient ratios will vary based on clinical area worked or acuity, with ratios of 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, or 6:1 for RNs and 4:1, 5:1, or 6:1 for LPNs. Support within the department includes ED Techs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, critical care pharmacists, paramedic staff, and other resources available 24/7. Technology includes an EMR system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitoring equipment. You may float to the ED Transition Care Unit as needed. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and there are no call requirements. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. RTO requires manager approval. Scrub color is royal blue. About Cynet Health
