Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification or teaching credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
• Proficiency in sign language (ASL or another system) and other communication strategies for students with hearing loss
• Experience designing and adapting curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and advocacy skills to connect with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and promoting equity in education

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, aligned with state standards and IEPs
• Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and adjust instruction as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student integration
• Provide guidance and training to school staff on communication techniques and accommodations
• Partner with families to build consistent strategies between home and school
