Senior Agile Delivery Manager (JIRA expert)

job summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager to support teams in delivering complex initiatives while providing clear, data-driven executive-level reporting. This role is a true hybrid between Scrum Master and Project Manager, with a strong emphasis on Jira administration, board optimization, metric creation, and executive dashboards.

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of hands-on experience, excels at influencing without authority, and is confident presenting progress, risks, and metrics to senior leadership. This role will drive Jira best practices, train teams, ensure delivery timelines are met, and produce insightful reporting that enables informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Scrum & Agile Leadership

• Partner with Product Owners and delivery teams to ensure backlog readiness, prioritization, and clarity of scope.
• Actively remove impediments, manage risks, and resolve dependencies across teams.
• Drive team alignment, accountability, and buy-in to Agile processes and delivery commitments.
• Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.

Project & Delivery Management

• Manage delivery timelines, milestones, and dependencies across multiple initiatives.
• Balance Agile execution with traditional project-management needs (roadmaps, status tracking, risk management).
• Proactively identify delivery risks and communicate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure teams consistently meet commitments and delivery expectations.

Jira Ownership & Best Practices

• Serve as a Jira subject matter expert and champion best practices for tracking work.
• Design, configure, and optimize Jira boards and workflows to support Scrum and hybrid delivery models.
• Create and maintain Jira dashboards tailored for team-level and executive-level visibility.
• Define standards for Jira usage (story structure, estimation, transitions, reporting consistency).
• Provide Jira training, documentation, and ongoing coaching to teams and stakeholders.

Metrics, Reporting & Executive Communication

• Design and deliver executive-level reporting that clearly communicates progress, delivery health, risks, and trends.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Jira, Excel, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
• Define and track key Agile and delivery metrics.
• Translate complex data into concise, actionable insights for leadership audiences.
• Prepare and present regular status updates, readouts, and strategic reports to executives and senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or similar role.
• Proven experience in hybrid Agile / project management environments .
• Expert-level experience with Jira , including board configuration, dashboards, workflows, and reporting.
• Strong experience creating metrics and visualizations using Excel, Tableau, or similar tools .
• Demonstrated ability to create and present executive-level reports .
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence teams and leaders and drive adoption of best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to gain team buy-in and foster collaboration and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
• Experience working in large or complex enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting multiple teams or cross-functional programs.
• Background in process improvement, delivery transformation, or Agile coaching.
