Description

JFL Consulting, LLC is seeking a highly skilled AI/ML System Engineer with expertise in building and maintaining AI/ML tools, managing infrastructure, and optimizing storage and database solutions. This role will focus on automating deployment processes, configuring machine learning frameworks, and supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance process for AI/ML environments.

Responsibilities

AI/ML Infrastructure & Tool Management

• Build and maintain AI/ML tools, including configuring and deploying open-source software on Linux systems.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes Helm charts, Docker Compose configurations, and Ansible/Terraform automation scripts for streamlining the deployment and management of AI/ML tools.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for AI/ML models and infrastructure.

Data & Storage Management

• Manage and optimize storage solutions, such as MinIO S3, ensuring efficient data handling and retrieval for AI/ML workflows.
• Implement database solutions, including SQL and NoSQL databases (document, vector, or graph-based), to support efficient data retrieval and storage for AI/ML applications.

AI/ML Framework & Workflow Optimization

• Configure and maintain AI/ML frameworks such as NVIDIA Morpheus, MLflow, ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Kubeflow, Airflow, and Optuna to support machine learning workflows.
• Support the integration and optimization of AI/ML tools to ensure the efficiency and scalability of operations.

Compliance & Documentation

• Support and facilitate the RMF compliance process for AI/ML systems and infrastructure.
• Develop technical documentation and workflows to ensure clarity and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in system engineering with a focus on AI/ML infrastructure.
• Experience architecting and managing networking infrastructure to support AI/ML pipelines, including configuring taps and packet brokers, integrating traffic generators for performance testing, and deploying network visibility/monitoring tools such as Arkime within secure DevOps environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and Terraform for automating deployments.
• Proficiency in managing databases (SQL, NoSQL) and storage solutions (MinIO S3, cloud storage).
• Experience with machine learning frameworks like MLflow, Grafana, Kubeflow, Airflow, and Optuna.

Technical Skills

• Strong Linux administration skills and experience with system automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with RMF compliance, security policies, and documentation practices.

Communication

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear, concise documentation and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification or equivalent highly desired.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or relevant AI/ML technologies.
• Experience with data storage technologies such as object storage, distributed databases, or cloud storage.
