Gas Service Specialist I

: GAS SERVICE SPECIALIST I Salary Range: $47,403.20 - $73,465.60 Hiring Range: $47,403.20 - $60,444.80 Greenville Utilities has a position available, under general direction, to perform technical skilled service work on natural gas infrastructure. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing service calls, including after hours on Stand-by; restoring/discontinuing natural gas service; lighting customer's pilots; performing leak investigations inside/outside of customer homes; repairing leaks on above ground/ below ground piping operating at a pressure up to 60 psi; preparing and completing service requests/work orders, as needed, to document field activities; and performing monthly and annual maintenance duties on equipment, instruments, and gas piping facilities as required by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's minimum Federal Safety Standards, as well as, GUC's Operations and Maintenance Plan. Qualified candidate must be safety-oriented, customer service focused, have at least one (1) year of gas pipeline and/or service construction experience (or relatable experience), and be capable of performing all covered tasks associated with service work. This position is subject to GUC's Respirator policy. The work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Qualified candidate must be able to effectively communicate with internal staff as well as GUC customers and have a valid North Carolina driver's license. Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. is required. Applications accepted through December 1, 2025.
