Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Moyock, North Carolina is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the overall maintenance, management, and daily operation of the golf course and its grounds. This includes turfgrass management, irrigation systems, landscaping, budgeting, and leading a grounds crew to deliver a first-class experience for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Turf & Grounds Management: Plan and implement agronomic programs, including fertilization, pest control, aeration, mowing, irrigation, and overseeding.
• Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise grounds crew staff; manage schedules and performance.
• Irrigation Systems: Oversee installation, maintenance, and operation of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water management.
• Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with mechanics on the care and maintenance of golf course equipment and machinery.
• Course Conditions: Ensure course is prepared daily for play, with attention to tees, greens, bunkers, fairways, and rough.
• Budgeting & Planning: Develop and manage annual operating budget for grounds; track expenses and control costs.
• Compliance & Safety: Maintain records and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to turf care, chemicals, and workplace safety.
• Collaboration: Work closely with club management, golf professionals, and ownership to align course conditions with member/guest expectations.
Requirements:
Degree or certification in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive golf course management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of turfgrass science, irrigation systems, and equipment maintenance.
Current pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation:
$65,000 – $75,000 per year.
