ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC 28801
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Unit: Emergency Department (ER)
• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (1:00PM – 1:00AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling to meet department needs
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,530 - $1,640

Emergency Room Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an Emergency Room setting
• Preferred: 2+ years of nursing experience, including Level II trauma center and high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation system preferred

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors for clinical support
• Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain respectful behavior and positive patient experience using AIDET principles
• Update patient boards and keep patients informed throughout their visit
• Float to all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
• Comply with hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance guidelines
