Repairs Assistant
Our client is looking for a Repairs Assistant to supports their organization's program by assisting with residential repair and preservation projects. This position works alongside staff and volunteers to complete basic home repair tasks while maintaining safe, organized, and respectful job sites.
As Repairs Assistant, core responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support for home repair projects
- Assisting with scheduling repair projects, staff, and volunteers
- Communicating respectfully with homeowners regarding scheduling, documentation, and project updates
- Maintaining organized files, databases, and repair program records
- Assisting with tracking materials, tools, and project needs
- Preparing paperwork, reports, and internal communications related to repairs
- Supporting volunteer coordination, including check-in materials and documentation
- Coordinating with repair staff to ensure job readiness and follow-up
- Completing other repair-related administrative tasks as assigned
This role may involve physical labor on active job sites, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, standing, and working in residential environments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with a non-profit or related field
- Previous experience in construction, home repair, or volunteer work
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
