Service Advisor
Description
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum, strong preference for college level technical classes
· Self-motivated and able to work effectively with all departments within an organization
· Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Able to use hand tools and complete physically demanding work tasks
· Willing to be flexible with travel and work schedules.
· Familiarity with MS Office applications
Objective:
· The service advisor will conduct regular on-site visits to power generation facilities to inspect and troubleshoot all components of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, to collect catalyst samples, assist with on-site testing services, and otherwise support various CORMETECH products and services.
· The service advisor will also build relationships with clients on site by addressing their concerns and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Maintain all required safety certifications, including confined space entry, lockout tag out, customer site specific trainings, etc.
· Maintain ability to wear and properly inspect safety equipment such as full or half face respirators, fall protection, etc.
· Conduct or support site services to include SCR catalyst inspection, CO catalyst inspection, reactor steel inspections, NH3 grid inspections, SCR or CO catalyst sample collection
· Learn to support other site work that could include providing supervision and technical support of SCR and/or CO catalyst installations, site walks for information gathering, meeting with potential contractors, and cleaning catalyst.
· Assemble, organize, and learn to prepare all necessary documents to support any type of service work in the field. These documents will include SOPs, work instructions, safety data sheets, emergency action plans, contact sheets, support documents and drawings.
· Support the efforts of management to produce new procedures and work instructions for the various types of service activities offered.
· Maintain existing job boxes belonging to the service team, including inventory of items, writing purchase requests to replenish consumable goods, recommending new supplies needed, and managing logistics of job boxes to support projects
· Identify, recommend, and implement cost savings opportunities.
· Assist with evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable contractors.
· Assist in writing requests for quotes (RFQ’s) to support customer site work, field service reports, product O&M manuals, etc.
· Identify possible opportunities to increase sales at plant sites.
· Other duties as assigned
· Special projects as required
Core Competencies:
· Basic Computer skills; proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, MS Teams.
· Strong communication skills
· Familiar with reading mechanical drawings
· Strong math skills
· Willing and able to attend training classes to enhance knowledge of SCR systems, boilers and related chemistry
· Able to travel extensively either solo or with a group
· Willing to work odd hours as necessary
· Self-motivated and self-disciplined with a high standard of ethics
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction site and manufacturing environments
· Familiar with heavy equipment, hardware, and handheld tool terminology
· Able to work with union and non-union personnel
· Able to make well informed decisions that could impact catalyst performance or work schedules
· Able to attend and pass required safety tests, e.g., OSHA 10, site specific tests
· Able to maintain a valid Passport, driver’s license, TWIC card, and/or other credentials required for site access, including government regulated sites
· Be physically fit. Exposure to harsh conditions is not uncommon.
· Work will often require accessing equipment through small manways, climbing scaffolding, and using swing stage / sky climber scaffold.
Travel
- Typically, 45% but may be up to 55%
- May require extended periods to support project field work
