Irrigation Manager

As an Irrigation Manager, you will oversee the management, operation, and maintenance of commercial irrigation systems across multiple properties. Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of commercial irrigation systems, including controllers, central control systems, and field components using the Sentinel Irrigation System.
• Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather, seasonal needs, and site requirements to optimize water usage and system performance.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of valves, heads, nozzles, rotors, sensors, and related equipment; identify and address system deficiencies.
• Maintain detailed records of system performance, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor water sources such as lakes, ponds, and wells; track water levels and coordinate maintenance and repairs of pumps and related infrastructure.
• Supervise and direct an irrigation technician, developing daily, weekly, and seasonal work schedules.
• Manage inventory of irrigation parts and materials, track usage, and coordinate purchasing as needed.
• Attend client meetings, provide regular reports on system performance and water management, and serve as the primary contact for irrigation-related concerns.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and verify the quality of completed work.
• Respond to irrigation emergencies, including water leaks, pump failures, and weather-related events; assist with storm preparation and recovery.
• Maintain accurate work orders, service records, and documentation; assist with budgeting, forecasting, and estimating for repairs and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial irrigation management.
• At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial irrigation systems and central control platforms, including Sentinel.
• Experience with pump stations, wells, water management, and troubleshooting irrigation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and technical documents.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with tablets, mobile applications, and irrigation management software.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to walk large properties, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to occasionally respond to after-hours emergencies.

Compensation

Salary range: $55,000–$65,000 annually , depending on experience, certifications, and skill set.
