Aluminum & Carbon Steel GMAW Fabrication Specialist
A day in the shop
On 1st Shift, you’ll move from blueprint to finished part with confidence—setting up your own MIG equipment, dialing in parameters, and laying down repeatable, spec-ready welds on aluminum and steel. You work independently, organize your space, verify dimensions, and keep production moving without hand-holding.
What you’ll work on
- MIG welding of aluminum, structural steel, thin-core materials, and steel tubing
- Material range: 16 gauge through 1/4" thickness
- Solo setup and operation of welding equipment
- Accurate reading and interpretation of shop drawings and blueprints
- Use of precision tools: calipers, tape measures, and height gauges
- Delivering welds that meet required specifications and quality standards
Must-haves
- Hands-on experience MIG welding both aluminum and steel
- Ability to pass an on-site weld test during the interview
- Strong blueprint reading skills with solid interpretation and execution
- Proven accuracy with standard measurement tools
- Confidence working independently in a production environment
Nice-to-have
- TIG welding experience
Readiness expectations
- This is a hands-on role with no training provided
- Be prepared to contribute immediately upon hire
