Psychiatric RN Job Details – Asheville, North Carolina

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Behavioral Health Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN contract)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1590–$1640 per week
• On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (NC RN jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing or behavioral health nursing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Excellent communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with mental health and behavioral health needs
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in a clinical setting
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding behavioral health conditions and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards
