Position Title: Specialty Operator

Production Associate

Pay Rate:

$22/hr. up to $24/hr.

Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up, and operate machine to meet customer order requirements
• Inspect and remove defective products
• Verify that orders are accurate prior to preparing for shipment

• Preventative maintenance

• Verift quality

• Operate the Clamp truck safety performing the task
  • Select proper rolls from inventory for production
  • Verify Size
  • Verify Grade
  • Verify Width
  • Inspect & slab down damaged rolls
  • Deliver rolls to the machine in proper unwind direction
  • Return unused butt roll to inventory
• Keep roll stock organized
• Prepare required production reports
• Complete forklift/clamp inspection checklist before shift
• Perform operator PM schedule and properly maintain records
• Report maintenance issue using the work ord er procedures
• Additional duties as assigned
  

• Basic maintenance skills

• Ability to read and use ruler

• Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  

  LANGUAGE SKILLS Be able to communicate with supervisors and understand simple instructions. Be able to read and understand operator’s manual (Accommodations will be made to employees). Employee must also be able to write work orders and fill out necessary production paperwork.
  

  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to add and subtract basic fractions (5+5). Be able to use a calculator for addition, subtraction, multiplying and dividing.
  

  REASONING ABILITY Be able to isolate and solve basic mechanical problems – Basic machine troubleshooting.
  

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds from the ground above the head. This job requires some stooping, twisting and turning, repetitive wrist and hand motions including gripping, and standing on your feet all day. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  

  WORK EVNIRONMENT Employee must wear protective glasses, safety vest, earplugs and steel toe shoes. The plant is generally clean of debris and clutter but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of dust. There are hazardous materials in the manufacturing process (see MSDS book). The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Most of the work is inside the plant with occasional work (<1% of the time) outside. The plant is not climate controlled being chilly in the winter (above freezing) and is hot in the summer (non air conditioned).
