Description :
Cooper Equipment Rental Company is a rapidly expanding organization seeking an Accountant who can excel in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment. This position requires an individual who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to the company’s continued growth.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles, combined with the flexibility to learn quickly, pivot effectively, and support evolving systems and processes. Responsibilities:
· Core Accounting: Manage and reconcile the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
· Rental Operations Support: Track rental contracts, deposits, damages, and billing. Record equipment purchases, depreciation, and disposals.
· Cash & Credit Management: Oversee bank reconciliations and cash flow. Support collections and assist with managing customer credit limits.
· Compliance & Reporting: Assist with tax filings (sales/use, payroll, and annual returns) and audits. Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
· Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Contribute to budget preparation, forecasts, and performance reporting to inform strategic decisions.
· Payroll Assistance : Support payroll processing and related employee expenses.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (staff accountant level and above considered). Prior experience in rental, construction, or service industries is advantageous but not required.
· Working knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
· Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Acumatica, or similar).
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· A proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to a growing company.

Employment Type: Full-time
Benefits:
· Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience.
