Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Location: Cherryville, NC

Shift: 2nd

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Press Brake Operator to join a metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced production environment and be capable of setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machinery to form metal parts according to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to determine bend lines, angles, tooling, and sequence of operations.
• Select, set up, and align appropriate dies, tooling, back gauges, and fixtures for each job.
• Program and operate CNC or manual press brake equipment to bend and form sheet metal and plate material.
• Perform trial bends, verify dimensions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
• Inspect parts throughout production using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and gauges.
• Identify and correct defects such as overbends, springback, or alignment issues.
• Maintain production output and ensure parts are completed according to quality and scheduling standards.
• Perform basic machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of tooling and equipment.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating a press brake (CNC or manual) in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.
• Strong understanding of bending principles, tooling selection, and material behavior.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy materials and stand for long periods.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multiple fabrication processes such as laser cutting, welding, or assembly.
• Familiarity with GD&T and basic CAD/CAM programs.
• Forklift or overhead crane certification for material handling.
