Travel RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660-$1700
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Location: Winston Salem, NC 27103 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (30 beds, average census 29)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Contract Length: 15 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option to work up to 48 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Floating to other units as needed
• Self-Scheduling: Yes, confirmed by unit
• Orientation: 24 hours unit orientation plus hospital orientation in week one
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at start)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficient in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Epic charting experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• Comfortable floating to other hospital units as needed
• Available for all required orientation and training modules
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical telemetry floor
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac events and dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines
• Implement isolation precautions and provide non-invasive airway management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Document care using Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Participate in self-scheduling and comply with weekend/holiday requirements
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
