HVAC/R Installation / Construction Manager
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Installation & Construction Manager to lead and oversee refrigeration and HVAC installation projects within a designated region. This role is responsible for managing project profitability, coordinating field operations, and leading teams to ensure successful, safe, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full P&L responsibility for installation projects within assigned geography
- Oversee and ensure project-level profitability and performance
- Plan and coordinate all phases of installation projects, including:
- Scheduling and manpower forecasting
- Procurement of materials, permits, and supplies
- Monitor job progress and provide regular status reporting
- Maintain strong communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Resolve project issues quickly and effectively
- Track and manage inventory including trucks, parts, and materials
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, and subcontractors
- Lead, develop, and hold teams accountable for performance and results
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Supervisors, Foremen, and installation crews
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Drive performance using metrics and KPIs
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, including PPE usage
- Oversee third-party vendors and subcontractors as needed
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Trade school or technical certification preferred
- Bachelorâs degree is a plus
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of leadership/people management experience
- 10+ years of experience in commercial construction or related field
- Experience managing subcontractors preferred
- Strong understanding of construction practices, labor forecasting, and project execution
- Proven experience managing budgets and P&L
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Knowledge of jobsite safety standards and compliance
- Proficiency with business tools (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, dispatch/work order systems)
- Valid driverâs license with a good driving record
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction in field environments
