Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Greensboro, NC 27403 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel RN contract
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks (September 2, 2025 – December 23, 2025)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820–$1870 per week
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
• Floating: Required across all hospital facilities as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Willingness to float to other units/facilities as needed
• Compliance with all onboarding, credentialing, and background check requirements

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer blood products, heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Perform peripheral IV starts, line care, and PICC line management
• Provide wound care, surgical drain management, and colostomy care
• Utilize rapid response teams and follow isolation precautions
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float to other hospital units or facilities within the health system as required
• Serve as Charge RN when assigned
