Job Summary

As a Sous Chef, you will support the success of the culinary program by assisting in all aspects of back-of-house operations—including menu planning, ordering, inventory, food preparation, and staff supervision. You’ll help ensure compliance with client guidelines, health regulations, and company standards for food quality, safety, freshness, and presentation. In this leadership role, you'll also motivate, train, and develop kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service and meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, production, and cooking of diverse menu items

• Support menu planning and contribute to culinary innovation

• Help launch new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary teams

• Aid in managing food costs and controlling operational expenses

• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role

• Background in hospitality settings such as restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, or healthcare

• Strong understanding of food trends, production methods, sanitation, safety protocols, and cost control

• Ability to lead and coach kitchen staff while maintaining a productive and positive environment

• ServSafe or Health Department certification preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred
