Locum - Medical Director - Geriatric Medicine
Medical Director – Geriatric Medicine (Locum)
Position Overview:
- Full-time Monday–Friday day schedule with additional part-time coverage needs.
- Focused on caring for elderly patients with chronic care needs through a community-based care model.
- Provider must be interested in locum coverage.
Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Provides medical direction and oversight for participant care programs.
- Oversees clinical outcomes and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Develops and maintains medical policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
- Supervises Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Participates in leadership planning and operational goal development.
- Participates in provider on-call rotation.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conducts history and physical examinations for new and existing participants.
- Performs periodic reassessments and develops treatment plans.
- Orders and evaluates diagnostic testing and documents findings appropriately.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary care teams on participant treatment plans.
- Participates in family conferences and care decision-making.
- Educates patients and families on chronic conditions and health maintenance.
- Assists in intake and assessment evaluations for program applicants.
Candidate Requirements:
- Active state medical license required.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required.
- Board Certification in Geriatrics preferred.
- DEA/CDS required.
- Minimum 1 year experience working with frail or elderly populations required.
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience required.
- Experience or additional qualifications in geriatrics preferred.
- No new graduates.
- Visa candidates not accepted.
