Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Raleigh, NC 27617 – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Facility Setting: Behavioral Health Division
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating weekends
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Unit Size: 77 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:11
• Float Requirements: May float to up to 4 different behavioral health units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred (new grads considered)
• Current CPR certification
• Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) required within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
• Experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or geriatric patients is a plus

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, compassionate care to adult behavioral health patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and assist in individualized treatment planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and external review organizations
• Float between behavioral health units as needed to support patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility protocols and healthcare regulations
