Orthopedic RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, North Carolina
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 32 private rooms
• Patient Ratio: 6:1 (may flex to 7:1 on nights)
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800–$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; orthopedic or hospital experience strongly preferred
• Excellent teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to float to other Med-Surg units as needed

Orthopedic RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to orthopedic surgery patients
• Assist with orthopedic procedures: dressing changes, suture/staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, wound vac maintenance/removal
• Operate and manage equipment such as walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM machines, lifts, and vital sign monitors
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in the Cerner EMR system
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families
