PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC (28801) – Explore North Carolina nursing jobs in a lively, culturally rich city
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Heart Tower, 3 Heart (E3MCSC)
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: July 29, 2025 – End: October 28, 2025)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Patient Ratio: 3-4:1 RN
• EMR System: Cerner
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required for nursing jobs in NC)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience
• Ability to float to all Med Surg and step-down units
• Strong clinical skills in telemetry, sheaths, and medication drips (gtts)
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Flexible, calm demeanor and team-oriented attitude

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the PCU, including post-EP lab and post-cath lab procedures
• Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and advanced cardiac care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Med Surg and step-down units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
